Community Work

The Group strongly believes in Community participation. Staff awareness is heightened by their knowledge of surrounding happenings and life. Staff members take pride in getting involved in community work.
As the group gets bigger, organized Aid programs are evolving. Several needy children have received an education through our sponsorship program with the Sisters of Cluny for the needy.

Ma Pau is Cricket. Ma Pau is for the Youth!

Nicholas Rampersad who was selected to be a part of the Guyana's National Under 17 Cricket Team came to Ma Pau Members Club for assistance. The club seeing the potential of this teenager donated $2000.00 toward his equipment. So that he can fulfill his sporting career. The Ma Pau Members Club has always been and will always ensure that the youth of Trinidad & Tobago are nurtured and supported in sport.

 

Ma Pau Stands Firm with the Nation's Youth!

"Stand Firm" a charity concert in aid of the St. Michael's School for Boys and the St. Jude's Home for Girls recently held at the Amphitheatre of the National Library in Port-of-Spain. The Ma Pau Members Club has graciously donated $2000.00 for the sound system which was required for the event.

 

$3500 to Assist the Grahams

Requesting assistance for the electrical wiring of the family's home the Graham's came to Ma Pau with great hope that they would succeed in attaining their request. Ma Pau has contributed $3500.00 toward the electrical rehabilitation of their home, with the hope that other companies will lend support in this family's undying plight to a wholesome future.

 

Ma Pau to the Rescue

The Ma Pau Members club has made a pledge to assist Karen Moraldo and Darryl Ram and their 10 children who was evicted from their home in the Beetham Gardens' Pensioners Quarters on January 30 2007. The Club assisted Mr. Ram through the provision if employment, which earns him, a salary of $3000.00 per month, food, clothing and a monthly home rental allowance. The club also found them suitable living accommodations that the family now enjoys.

Explainer Gets $20,000.00 for Carnival 2K7

Explainer one of the country's renowned calypsoians basks in the glory of the season each year, but for him and so many others the cost affiliated with recording, production and the like can be extremely difficult to obtain. The Ma Pau Member's Club has donated $20,000.00 to Explainer's 2007 recording and production accommodations, a cheque that was enthusiastically welcomed by the 2006 "Park It" singer. Realizing that the culture of Trinidad & Tobago must be supported by members of the corporate sector, Ma Pau has raised a hand in an effort to provide our musical ambassadors with financial solidarity.

 

Carnival for the Kids, Ma Pau supports it All the way

This year the Ma Pau Members Club has placed its focus on a group of 8 young and spirited souls who hail from this institution, offering to assist with a handsome $4600.00 towards the purchase of their carnival costumes. The band, Jacqui Koon How "Myths and Legends" which features designs by 17-year-old, Adrian Foster and promises to give the kids all the fun, thrill and excitement that carnival can possibly offer to them.

As always Ma Pau stretches its hands out to the children for they understand that these impressionable minds are the future of out nation!

 

Ma Pau Looks on & Supports as Crazy Mesmerizes the Masses!

The Ma Pau members club in its quest to Propel the nation's culture and its keepers forward has donated a handsome $8000.00 cheque to the lovable Lunatic himself, Crazy" As is usually the case, Ma Pau lends its support to members of the soca and calypso fraternity during the season as they understand that along with the production of the music, there are incurred cost.

The Ma Pau Members club is honored to present the mad behind this season's two most notoriously embraced carnival songs, with this $8000.00 sum that will definitely come in handy, along the way!

 

Ma Pau on Board with Marissa" s Home Repair

Marissa Louise a mother of three and a resident of Cicada Street in Morvant recently extended her simple request for assistance from the Ma Pau Member's club. In her letter Louise explained that her current monthly income of approximately $1000.00 per month which is sporadically attained through maintenance jobs is simply insufficient in her efforts to refurbish the caved in roof of her home.

Marissa has also sought the assistance of the Self Help Commission in an effort to raise the $13,252.00 that is needed to repair the roof and the floor that has deteriorated as a result of the roof's collapse.

Ma Pau has donated $5000.00 to Marissa's cause in the hope that she can rebuild a comfortable shelter for her family.

Ma Pau gives Daryl a fighting chance

29-Year-old Daryl St. Cyr was suffering from "Sclerosing Cholangitis" Daryl who was a Pentecostal Minister at the United Pentecostal Church in San Juan, Trinidad. Found himself suffering with this dreaded condition. Ma Pau Members Club came to the assistance Daryl to help him get the much-needed liver transplant in Argentina. With a donation of $5000.00 and a charity night held at Ma Pay with the proceeds of the night going towards Daryl's cause.

 

September 2006 $30000.00 Farai & Masai

A solid education is the key variable in the achievement of a successful, well balanced future and this Faria and Tafara Masaisai aged 21 and 23 respectively have acknowledged. The brothers who hail from Belmont, Trinidad have proven to be distinctively ambitious in the efforts to attain the best possible academic structure that can be afforded. In September 2006 Ma Pau Member's Club donated $30,000.00 to help Faria and Tafara achieve their educational goals.

Ma Pau donates Airline tickets Brent Metivier $5000.00

Rent Metivire was affected with Cerebral Palsy at birth. After many efforts raising funds for their son's to seek a 5 week brain educational and physical therapy program at the EURECA Institute, California, USA. A total of $75,000.00 was raised; for the treatment. The parents were faced with a further problem as one of the Major Airline's; refused their request for assistance. Ma Pau Member's Club saw the story in the newspapers and rendered their assistance by giving to them $5000.00 towards the cost of the airline tickets to Californian

 

September 2006 $14,000.00 Cryril Ross Nursery

The Ma Pau Member's Club has constantly been a beacon of light for many of the country's underprivileged, proving time and time again that they are leaders within the community. Most recently, the Ma Pau Member's Club, reputed for this overwhelming generosity with regard to humanitarian efforts came forward in an attempt providing educational emancipation to two of the Cyril Ross Nursery children. Presenting a cheque in the amount of $14,000.00 to one of the nursery's ambassadors, Wendy Fitzwillams, Ma Pau surrendered to the cause of educating our nation's youth.

 

Ma Pau Invites Santa to Seal Lots for the 10th Year

For an event which had a very humble beginning at the home of Ma Pau employee and Sea Lots resident; Isaac. The 10th year celebration proved truly worthwhile, as it not only brought cheers of joy to the hearts of the community's children, but also a sense of pride and fulfillment to the management and staff of the Ma Pau Members Club.

MA PAU Members Club one of the oldest and most reputable Members Club reached out and touched the lives of 10 Sri Lankan fishermen who had lost their boats and families in the recent devastating Tsunami.

MAPAU CHIPS IN:
MaPau Member Club of Woodbrook recently contributed $16,200 to the Cyril Ross Nursey in Tacarigua to cover transportation costs for seven of teh nursery's children to attend school.

St. Jame Goverment Secondary School is assisted by Ma Pau Members Club. Presently they need funds for the repair of computer in their Computer lab. Mr Clarence Blackman head of the Computer department at the school welcomes any assitance towards this venture. Ma Pau has always supported schools in the apst and will continue to contributing towards the children of our nation.

 

Don Alcindor is in dire need of surgery. He has been diagnosed with having a defective mitral valve, which needs urgent attention. The cost of the surgery is $150,000.00 TT. So far he has been able to raise $90,000.00 and is desperately trying to raise the other $60,000.00 TT. Ma Pau Members club has come to the assistance of Don by presenting to him $5000.00 towrds his surgey. He is still seeking assistance and is appealing to the public for their assistance.

Ma pau Members Club has undertaken a weekly dinner programme to feed the less privileged children in our community. This week 100 dinners was given to the children of Chirst Child Convalescent Home in Diego Martin. The children warmly welcomed the generosity of Ma Pau. This project is on going and Ma Pau is calling on our businesses in our Community to assist in any way they can to help these needy children.

Ma Pau members' club of Ariapita Avenue , Woodbrook, hosted a dinner for underprivileged children of the Christ CHild Convalescent Home, Diego Martin, last week. The home run by Maria Therese Maharaj and Bernadine Williams for the past 45 years, houses about 70 children aged from three months to 17 yeard. Genevieve Hall, Secretary of the club feeds one of the little girls from the home.
